Sir Elton 'plans hip-hop album' [BBC]

Sir Elton John is planning to record a hip-hop album, and hopes to collaborate with stars including Dr Dre, Snoop Dogg and Kanye West.

"I want to bring my songs and melodies to hip-hop beats," the singer, 59, told Rolling Stone, in an interview printed on their website. "It may be a disaster, it could be fantastic, but you don't know until you try," he said.

"I want to work with Pharrell, Timbaland, Snoop, Kanye, Eminem and just see what happens," Sir Elton told Rolling Stone magazine.

As for the recording sessions, they'll begin as soon as, you know, he calls all those people and convinces them to make a hip-hop album.

He revealed he had not yet spoken to Dr Dre about the project, but was interested in producing a sound "a bit like 'No Diggity' by Blackstreet."

On the plus side, he already has three solid pre-existing hip-hop monickers: Lord Choc Ice, Commodore Orpington, or Sir Horace Pussy. Take your pick.

T.A.M.S.Y. SAYS: If Sir Elton wants to make a hip-hop album, well, by God, let the man make a hip-hop album. Call it The Biznatch is Biznack.
