Q: Thought we were due for a change or two around this place?

A: No, I'm not referring to my new profile photo, which in thumbnail form, makes me look slightly disfigured. Possibly also in non-thumbnail form. I'm also not talking about the fact that T.A.M.S.Y.'s background changes every three days or so. Still trying to iron that out, but I'm open to suggestions (e.g., your photo makes you look disfigured and those bricks are making me blind).

No, what I'm referring to are lyrics from the afore-dubbed best song of 2006, Midlake's "Roscoe," which is now available in a great new remixed form over at fine, fine music blog Gorilla vs Bear (from whom, incidentally, I blatantly ripped off the whole tactile background thing). The remix is by the two dudes of Beyond the Wizard's Sleeve, who last year remixed Peter Bjorn & John's much-ballyhooed "Young Folks."

RELATED: This is a going to be a big duh to hipsters out there, but those of you who don't closely follow the indie-music scene should absolutely check out the original "Young Folks," the other best song of 2006. It's being hosted right this very moment over at The House of Leaf and Lime. Go! Get it! Hurry!!!

Also RELATED: I just discovered that Leaf & Lime blog by searching for "Young Folks" on Elbo.ws, the mp3 search engine. I've been hearing about Elbo.ws for months, but just tested it out for the first time right now. And Heyzeus Christmas, it's GREAT! Hurray for technology! Hurray for never dying! Hurrah for Friday! Not that Friday means anything when you're unemployed!

I personally liked the insane blue brick. The new picture is frightening, but I can handle it.

so that's one vote for "frightening," one vote for "high" (susie), and one vote for Republican.
