Q: Has Sarah Palin jumped the polar bear?

A: If you liked the Katie Couric interview, says the McCain campaign (reportedly), you're gonna love the VP debate. If they even let it happen. Via Fargo, ND talk-radio sensation Ed Schultz:

Capitol Hill sources are telling me that senior McCain people are more than concerned about Palin. The campaign has held a mock debate and a mock press conference; both are being described as "disastrous." One senior McCain aide was quoted as saying, "What are we going to do?" The McCain people want to move this first debate to some later, undetermined date, possibly never. People on the inside are saying the Alaska Governor is "clueless."
Caveat: I have no idea who Ed Schultz is, despite the "About Ed" page claiming an audience of three million. But they can't spell "Barak," so maybe take this with a grain of salt.

On the other hand, it's not exactly hard to believe that McCain's senior staff might be mildly annoyed that some dumbass from Alaska is destroying their careers. Tim Pawlenty might want to keep his schedule clear -- and if I'm Sarah Palin, I'm flat rejecting any invitation to go moose hunting with Dick Cheney.
